EXECUTIVE DIPLOMA IN LEADERSHIP
Duration: The program will be run for in two parts. Those who complete the first part which is the first Semester of seven courses or modules will be awarded the Certificate in Leadership (CIL) and those who continue to complete the additional seven courses will be awarded the Diploma in Leadership (DIL). There is opportunity for those who successfully complete the Diploma to do a top up of additional six months to obtain our one year Executive M.A. in Leadership.
Contact Hours: It will be run in two (2) credit hour slots for a total of twenty-six (26) credit hours.
ADMISSION (ENTRY) REQUIREMENTS/TARGET GROUPS:
Entry Requirements
Candidate with at least two years experience in a leadership capacity or executive position in an institution or organization since it is an executive program.
Those with certificates from teacher training institutions and 2 years teaching experience will also be considered.
MODE OF DELIVERY.
Program will be taught mostly virtually hosted at the ILU Ghana East Legon office in Ghana in Collaboration with ATEEA in July 2021 virtually. It will start with a pilot program of ten ATEEA members and will subsequently be opened to other ATEEA Regions and Groups.
It will also be a modular program that will use distant learning and distributive and extension learning approaches in facilitating the modules internationally and locally. Mentoring will also be a big part of the program as each student will be assigned to a mentor whose assessment will be part of the final assessment of the student.
Program Participants include but not limited to Board Members; Council Members; Government Leaders; Business and Organizational Executives; Directors; Assistant Directors; Managers; Consultants; Officers; Supervisors; Personal Assistants; Individual leaders; Company Secretaries, Organizational Heads and their leadership and management teams.
This leadership development series focuses on changing the mindsets, perspectives, practices and more importantly improve the outputs of participants. It is therefore executive targeted and output-based programme.
PREAMBLE
The need to raise transforming leaders of integrity who serve as trusted stewards of public and private responsibilities and resources; and humbly handle power, privileges and positions of leadership, is critical to Africa’s transformation in contemporary times.
Ghana can be positively transformed by discovering, developing and deploying transforming leaders of integrity.
Improved leadership is evidently an essential part of Ghana’s economic, political, moral and social development given the vast resources with which we have been endowed.
Program Rationale
Uncertain and volatile situations, such as the current COVID-19, call for leadership and governance that is not only adaptive but most importantly transformational in its approach which cares not for itself but also for the world at large because of our interconnectedness.
The need to raise transforming leaders of integrity who serve as trusted stewards of public and private responsibilities and resources; and humbly handle power, privileges and positions of leadership, remains critical to Africa’s transformation. Ghana can be positively transformed by discovering, developing and deploying transforming leaders of integrity. Improved leadership is therefore envisaged as an essential part of Ghana’s economic, political, moral and social development. This position is premised on the vast natural resources endowed within Ghana! Which calls for programs that will respond to this situation.
Program Overview:
The program is an outcome-based Executive Diploma in Leadership. It focuses on training, developing, guiding and building effective leaders of integrity through their professional and personal spheres of influence to spearhead organizational transformation and societal transformation. It is not only based on improving the competencies of the students but also to make them instruments of positive change in their spheres of influence.

- To train leaders and professionals to understand the transforming leadership paradigm.
- To teach leaders and professionals on how to exercise effective leadership and bring positive change to their spheres of responsibility and involvement.
- To equip leaders and professionals as effective coaches who are leading transformation.
- To create community of professional coaches who are, in turn, developing effective transforming leaders and professionals for their organizations and society at large.
- To support participating corporate organizations and government entities by training their staff in essential leadership skills, attitude change, and personal integrity.
- To expose participants to Customer Care and Service as part of developing Changed leadership with a caring human face and passion.
